Oakham has a number of attractions,
from the Castle with its famous collection of horseshoes,
presented to Oakham by Royalty on their visits to
the town. The Butter Cross in the Market Place and
the local museum, with wonderful displays and a history
of Rutland itself, are all within walking distance.

Rutland Water –Only
a short drive away is Rutland Water famous for being
the biggest manmade reservoir in western Europe, completed
in 1977 it covers 3,100 acres and holds up to 27,000
million gallons of water. Its main attractions are sailing
and fishing, it offers some of the finest trout fishing
in Europe.
